Hummel Figurines Back in Action
In my September 15 blog, I had writen about how Goebel, the makers of MI Hummel figurines, were discontinuing the line. A few weeks ago, Goebel put out a press release stating that new investors have purchased the Hummel rights, and will begin to produce new pieces in early 2009! The investor group, Manufaktur Rodental GmbH, will continue producing the steadfast figurines in their Rodental, Germany factory. They will be reinstating, and growing, the MI Hummel Club which currently has approximately 130,000 members worldwide.
