Just a quick note to all of our Ebony Visions collectors, and in particular, our Blackshear Circle Members, the Blackshear Circle Newsletter that we have all come to love will be suspended in its hard copy form. In an effort to "reduce the impact on our environment" they will not be printing and mailing further copies of the newsletter or a membership card. However, all future editions will be available online at www.department56.com.
We also have pictures of all the new pieces coming out in the Ebony Visions series. Pre-order now to ensure a First Issue piece!

I'm an avid Ebony Visions collector from the beginning, and this is a huge disappointment.
The newsletters are as much a part of my collection as the actual artwork.
And I have had a membership card since 1997.
I know that Department 56 has money trouble, but they should have asked their loyal Blackshear collectors to maybe, pay more to continue to get the newsletters and membership card, or something like that.
This Blackshear collecting has become an institution. I'm am very said it has come to this.
When is the official announcement date of this? There will be many more sad collectors.
Thanks for your comments Larraine. I agree with you on this one. The Newsletter is a great piece of literature allows collectors to see a more involved look at the collection (not just the pieces).
As for an official announcement,according to D56, you will be receiving one last issue of the newsletter and enclosed should be a letter stating the changes.
